West Yorkshire has the best of all worlds when you're planning a break.

This is an invigorating landscape where you'll find all the peace and beauty that goes into making a break truly memorable. The Bradford district alone covers an outstanding area of 143 square miles - and this isn't all urban sprawl or industry - 60% of those 143 square miles forms some of the most beautiful open green spaces in the UK.

There are quaint, unspoilt villages, fabulous old country pubs, some of the best food in the UK and undoubtedly the best beer. There are some fine golf courses, fascinating museums and visitor attractions, and in this part of England the scenery is the biggest attraction of all. Bradford's urban buzz attracts no less than 8 million visitors each year. It's Victorian architecture alone is worth the trip and the 15th century Cathedral in Church Bank reminds us that this is a place steeped in history, both social and industrial.

You can track down the Bronte Sisters in picturesque Haworth, ride on steam railways, see vintage buses in action, visit old mills and art galleries. There's the busy, bustling Alhambra Theatre in Bradford and Huddersfield's jaw-dropping Galpharm Stadium.
