Newcastle's Places to Eat

You name it - Newcastle and Gateshead have it. This is a region where a good menu is everything. At the Gateshead end of the Swing Bridge you'll find the restaurant the stars use - La Riviera, a beautiful eatery offering some of the finest food around. On Newcastle's Quayside The Big Mussel speaks for itself - a marvellous ambience, fine Belgian Beer and creative seafood.

There's a selection of superbly interesting bars and pubs serving great food run by the Wessex Taverns group which anyone visiting Tyneside will enjoy immensely. Bob Trollop's on the Quayside is noted for its choice vegetarian menu and great decor. If your taste is nautical, you'll be welcome aboard at the Offshore 44 bar - with more good food, and for Sunday lunches the Red House takes some beating.
