The East Riding of Yorkshire is dominated by the River Humber and the city of Kingston Upon Hull. To the East of Hull lies the vast, flat fertile farming country of Holderness and the bleak but stark beauty of Spurn Point, a nature reserve and coastguard station which juts out from the Humber Estuary into the North Sea. Along the Holderness coast a string of resorts stretches all the way up to Scarborough; Hornsea, with it's beautiful inland lake, the Mere, busy Bridlington and Flamborough.

North of Hull the undulating green hills of the Yorkshire Wolds stretch out in a wide arc across the county, and in their midst the town of Driffield reigns supreme, home to one of the UK's largest annual agricultural shows. The East Riding of Yorkshire is the place where Britain's largest county rolls down to the North Sea, a traditional destination blending all the qualities of peaceful rural manners with seaside fun and relaxation.

Heading north also brings you to the bustling market town of Beverley, a historic centre with a mighty Minster and an immensely popular race course and some truly amazing old pubs.
