By Road: If you wish to avoid London, then skirt around the M25. From the north you can join the A2 at Dartford which takes you to the M2 at Rochester, then on to Canterbury via Faversham. Margate, Deal, Dover and Folkestone are all a short, pleasant drive away from Canterbury. You can also travel on the fast M20 from Junction 3 on the M25 or from junction 5 via the M26. These routes will take you to Maidstone, Ashford and Folkestone.
By Rail: There are a number of trains from London taking you into Kent.
